There is nothing better than finishing your weekend with a delicious Sunday Dinner! If you’re looking at places in North Wales to get one, it’s worth considering what the restaurants in Conwy have to offer.
We’ve put a list together of some of the best restaurants and pubs which serve up a delicious Sunday lunch:
The Manor Bar & Restaurant – Conwy
The Manor in Gorse Hill Lodge and Caravan park is the perfect place to visit on a Sunday. It has a gorgeous bowling green out front which looks out towards the Conwy Valley. The restaurant is in a grand 19th Century renovated, you guessed it, Manor house.
The ingredients for the food at the Manor is sourced locally where possible. They use fresh produce and everything is prepared in their kitchen by their team of talented chefs.
The Sunday menu includes a choice of meats such as Welsh black beef and half roasted chicken. The beef comes with a giant Yorkshire pudding, and the chicken comes with sausage meat stuffing, and both with duck fat roasties. Veggie options like the vegetable sausage roast is available.
The Cottage Loaf – Llandudno
The Cottage Loaf is described as a hidden gem in Llandudno. You can find the place by looking down a back street off the main road in Llandudno. Look out for the fairy lights and beautiful flowers displayed at the front.
They have a special Sunday Lunch menu for you to choose from. This includes a delicious roast shoulder of Welsh lamb, and roast pork belly that comes with an apple and cider creamy sauce.
The food at the Cottage Loaf is also locally sourced wherever possible, with some of the meat being from the butchers just next door to them! If you don’t fancy any of their roast dinners, then their standard menu is just as special. They have a very create menu which is ever-changing.
The Queen’s Head – Glanwydden
The Queen’s Head is a fantastic little pub in the small village of Glanwydden. It was originally a cottage, so you can imagine how cosy it is, but it has now been a favourite for food in the area for over 20 years.
The place has a great atmosphere, there are low ceilings and tartan carpet, so it feels rather traditional. Next to the bar is a seating area with a roaring fire where you can get a drink before you are seated.
The Sunday menu is displayed on the specials board. This includes options such as pork, beef, and chicken, but is subject to change. If you are vegetarian or vegan there will be an option for you. All roasts come with a selection of vegetables and delicious roast potatoes.
The Pen y Bryn – Colwyn Bay
The Pen y Bryn is a pub in an old converted medical centre. You would never think as you approach the front and head inside where the place is filled with dark wood, book shelves, and big warm fireplaces.
The Sunday lunch menu changes day to day, as does their normal menu. The options usually include choices from; lamb, beef, pork, chicken, and a mixed roast. The mixed roast is great as you get to sample each meat that is on the menu.
All roast dinners come with sides of vegetables, and some crispy roasties. However, if you don’t fancy a roast, you can choose something from their regular menu.
