Everyone loves a day out by the beach – nothing quite beats feeling the sand between your toes and the sun on your face. There’s plenty of fun free things to do with the family on your next seaside break – as long as you remember the essentials. There’s nothing more annoying than leaving behind your bucket and spade and having to shell out for a new one, so we have put together this list to make sure you never forget them again.
Bucket and Spade
Of course we just mentioned this, but a bucket and spade is the ultimate seaside essential especially to keep your little one occupied whilst you are topping up your tan.
Phone and portable charger
Having memories by the seaside can be treasured forever, especially if you have a few holiday snaps to look back on in years to come. So make sure you have your phone with you and more importantly a portable phone charger so yours doesn’t run out of juice at the wrong time.
Kindle or a good book
Another thing you might want to take with you is your kindle or a good book that you can read whilst you’re listening to the sound of the waves crash against the shore.
Towels
If you’re planning on dipping your feet or simply laying on the sand, towels are an essential to take with you. There’s nothing worse than having sand all in the wrong places whilst you’re trying to relax.
Change of Clothes
You might want to consider taking a change of clothes with you too if you do plan on going for a swim. The last thing you want is to be walking around soaking wet!
Sun cream
British weather can be unpredictable so taking some sun cream with you is a must. No one wants their day ruined with unfortunately getting burnt or worse still – heatstroke.
Sun hat
To prevent heatstroke you should also wear a hat which will protect your head and shoulders.
Water
Make sure you have plenty of water with you. Seaside stall prices can be extremely high due to the demand from customers. It can get pretty expensive just to buy everyone a drink!
Picnic
This is entirely optional, but at some point in the day everyone is going to start feeling a little hungry, so why not take a picnic? It’s an easy way to save money and keep the family happy.
Dog bowl
If you’re planning on taking your dog with you don’t forget to bring their bowl and water too!
If you are looking for a seaside break rather than just a day away at the beach, then there are plenty of seafront hotels in Llandudno. A perfect place for the whole family.
